Why a rack card works at the counter
People pick up a rack card while they wait: at the front desk, in a hotel lobby, at the register. It's small enough to slip in a pocket or a purse, and sturdy enough to survive the trip home.
Give each card one subject. One service, one attraction, one offer. A card that tries to cover everything ends up saying nothing clearly.
If you have several services, print a card for each one and fill a small rack on your counter. People take the card that matches their problem.
Rack card or brochure?
A rack card is one flat card printed on both sides. There's no folding, so it's quick to print and quick to read.
A tri-fold brochure gives you six panels for photos, a full service list and answers to common questions. Folded, it fits the same racks.
Start with a rack card when the message is short. Move to a brochure when people need the whole story before they call. My flyers and brochures page covers the folds.
What to put on each side
In a rack, people only see the top of the card. Put your name and a short headline in the top third, big enough to read from a step away.
Use the back for the details: services, hours, a map, an offer or a QR code that opens your booking page. A code or offer that only appears on the card tells you whether the cards are working.
Send your logo and what each card needs to say. I'll lay them out, and you approve a proof before anything prints.

Questions
Rack cards and counter cards: common questions
What size is a rack card?
4 x 9 inches is the standard. It fits the slots in most brochure racks and counter displays.
How much do rack cards cost?
It depends on the quantity, the paper and the finish. Tell me how many you need and I'll quote it within 24 hours. Reorders cost less once your file is set up.
What paper is best for rack cards?
Heavy cover stock, so the card stands up in a rack and doesn't flop in someone's hand. Gloss makes photos pop. Matte is easier to write on.
Should I get rack cards or brochures?
Rack cards for a short message or a single service. A tri-fold brochure when people need more detail. Both fit in the same racks.
Can you design my rack cards?
Yes. Send your logo, photos and what you want each card to say, and you'll get a proof to approve. First order? Design and setup are free.
